Thank you for your interest in the Macedonia Baptist Church Summer Youth Program. We are excited about the possibility of having you as an summer youth worker for the next two years. Our desire is to equip you to succeed in all facets of church ministry and life. The Macedonia Summer Youth Worker Program will help you grow as a leader and grow spirtually.

You are encouraged to complete the enclosed application and return it promptly. Completed applications must be submitted no later than February 11, 2024. Your completed application will be reviewed and prayerfully considered for admission into the program. Those considered for admission will be contacted to schedule the initial interview. If selected to participate in the Macedonia Summer Youth Program for 2024 – 2026  you will be notified on March 8, 2024. The program will begin May 26, 2024.

The Teen Ministry of Macedonia Baptist Church is committed to the spiritual, educational, and social development of the teen-age members of our church. As a part of fulfilling this mission, the Teen Ministry has created a summer youth employment program with the

purpose of helping two selected teens `age members develop skills that will prepare them for higher

education and career pursuits as well as deepen their relationship with Christ. These positions

are filled on a yearly basis. The length of the program is about 10-weeks, but it may vary from year to year.

 
The youth members will be selected based on their leadership, motivation, and ability to work independently.

Independent learning is one of the key concepts of this program; this is built on the premise that individuals are expected to use the resources available to them in

order to accomplish the demands of achieving higher educational goals/career advancement.

This training will act as a template for the development of personal time management skills,

resource management skills, research skills, communication skills as well as development in the

areas of spiritual discipline and leadership. These acquired skills can then be recalled and

utilized in the pursuit of higher education and career advancement.

In addition to regularly attending and participating in Sunday Worship Service, Sunday School, and Teen Ministry, these individuals may be asked to participate in the following activities/ministries:

Spiritual Development

Activities for spiritual development include, but are not limited to:

 Cultivation of the spiritual disciplines

 Scripture memorization

 Bible Intake

 Prayer

 Journaling

 Evangelism

 Worship

 Serving

 Fasting

 Stewardship

 Learning

 Participation in community group Bible study

 Participation in devotion

 Leading a community Bible study

 Biblical research

 Spiritual gifts inventory if not yet done already

 Overview of ministry at MBC

 Ministry Project Planning

o Visit Hospitals, Nursing Homes, and Homes of Sick & Shut In

o Assessment of communication skills, presentation skills, professionalism, time management, etc. will be evaluated on an ongoing basis.

By following the steps listed below, you will be able to fulfill all requirements for application to Macedonia Baptist Church Summer Youth Program. Please submit completed applications using the form below. If you have any questions send them to yadirector@macedoniakc.org

1.   Carefully complete the Personal Data information. Answer all questions. 

2.   Complete the BIOGRAPHY covering your conversion, your desire for Christian service, goals, and desires for the future, and why you desire to enroll in the Summer Youth Program. This will not exceed two pages in length. Please type and submit the paper in Times New Roman, 12-point font and double spaced. 

3.   The application deadline, including biography and all reference letters, is Feburary 11, 2023.

Please provide CORRECT email addresses for all references.

a. The Teacher Reference should be someone who knows you well enough to give a meaningful reference. 

NOTE: In order to process your application, it is important that the reference form be sent promptly. Reference forms will be sent to the individuals who are listed as a reference. The reference should NOT be completed by the applicant.

When all these items have been received, your application will be reviewed and you will potentially be scheduled for an interview.
